Student arrested after firecracker incident at high school

A Ballston Spa High School student was arrested Thursday after State Police said he set off a pack of firecrackers and threw them into a crowd.

Tire dumps cleaned up

WATERFORD

After an aggressive plan to the tackle the state's used tire problem, more than 26 million tires have been removed. The state's second largest tire dump, Mohawk Tire in Waterford, is now free of old tires. The DEC says 102 of the 146 tire dumps are cleaned up and those not completely free of tires have seen significant progress.

Holiday cheer delayed at the Capitol

This special session is not only holding up state business within the Capitol walls, but also outside. The trees chosen to adorn the Empire State Plaza and East Capitol Park this holiday season have not been brought in yet due to the congestion at the Capitol. Our Jaime Kazlo talked to the Fiacco family in Mechanicville who were more than happy to donate one of the trees this year - no matter how long it takes to get it there.

How Court of Appeals decision could affect same-sex marriage debate

In a decision this week, the New York State Court of Appeals upheld that state and county governments acted within their rights when they offered benefits to same-sex couples married out of state. The court held that the government had discretion to do this because it can extend benefits to domestic partners. But how, if at all, does this affect the same-sex marriage debate in New York, especially when it comes to the legislature? Our Britt Godshalk reports.

FAA says flight computers working again

FAA officials say failed computers that delayed flights across the country are now working again. The air traffic controllers union says the computer failure involved both of the Federal Aviation Administration's computer centers in Salt Lake City and Atlanta.
