GREAT BARRINGTON, MA -- Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Great Barrington.
Berkshire County D.A. David Capeless said Great Barrington police received a 911 call around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday reporting a "tragedy" at 180 North Plain Road. The call was made by Robert F. Paonessa, 74. When officers arrived, they found the bodies of Paonessa and his son, Robert A. Paonessa, 37.
Capeless said it appears the elder Paonessa shot and killed his son, called police and then took his own life before officers arrived.
