Police officer stabbed during arrest

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- A Saratoga Springs Police Officer is recovering at Albany Medical Center after being slashed across the neck.


Police say Officer Adam Baker, 30, was trying to arrest a mental patient when he was attacked. The patient is Seth Dawson, 19, who was an outpatient at the Four Winds Hospital.

A Saratoga Springs police officer is recovering after being stabbed during an arrest.
Investigators say he wandered nearly a mile from the mental health treatment center when Baker tried to arrest him. That's when police say Dawson took out a sharp object and slashed Baker across the neck.


The officer was flown to Albany Medical Center for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.


As for Dawson, he is now facing assault charges.
