Remembering Gretchen Perham

Decorating the place that Gretchen Perham was found dead is one of the only things her mother can do to stay close to her little girl.

Kim Perham said, "We need her to come back. We need to say a lot of things that we didn't get a chance to say."

Perham and other family members went to Mount Hope Drive to mourn and remember Gretchen, the 14-year-old girl who was abducted and killed 10 months ago. Each month that passes is just as difficult as the first.

Sister-in-law Tonya Linen said, "It's been difficult, very difficult. She stayed with us. It's hard for me, heavy day. I go through things ever once in a blue moon, just try to stay strong, because that's what she'd want us to be, strong. Just keep on going for her."

But still the family struggles with the fact that months later, no one has been arrested for Gretchen's murder.

Remembering Gretchen
It's been 10 months since 14-year-old Gretchen Perham was murdered. Still, no suspects have been named. Perham's family and friends remembered her at the place where her body was found.
Perham said, "I just want the person who did this to know how much you destroyed our lives and our family. And you took away a beautiful person, and I know there's a lot of beautiful people, but Gretchen, she was just Gretchen, the smile."

The family has hired an attorney to investigate convicted rapist Darius Ashley. They are confident one day Gretchen's killer will finally be caught.

"They will be found, I believe, before this year is up, they will be found, they will be brought to justice. We're hoping and praying," said Linen.

Hoping those prayers are answered, the family said that they and Gretchen both can finally rest peacefully.
