Tulip Festival business is booming

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The 2008 Tulip Queen is, competition. Which one is the royalist? Which one is the prettiest? In the corner, Jolene Vincent, just 13 years old. In the other corner, her brother Ryan, 16.

“Yeah I kinda dropped the lemon when I was pouring back in the cup,” said Ryan Vincent.

Sometimes with so many choices, you got to pick just one, and the pros know it:

“My parents started in the early seventies so they pull out all the stops to attract customers with the sights and smells. This is our business. This is our focus. This is all we do,” said MaryJo Vincent. “We are definitely looking forward to kickstarting our business this year.”

“I've done six craft shows this year and my gross sales is only down $500 from last year,” said Howard Bellingham, Toymaker.

If you plant it they will come, right? Albany's Washington Park was springing with pinks, oranges, and yellows for the 60th annual tulip festival, but as our Britt Godshalk explains, businesses were more interested in a different color- green.
Just down the path there were more games being played by a Yankee fan ironically named Manny Ortiz.

Finally, something you don't have to pick. In fact you aren't even allowed to, but you can feel free to point them out if you want.

Somehow in this competition, everybody wins out.
