Gretchen Perham's brother Robert Linen said, "From day one, we always called this a celebration of life."
Perham's family and friends are celebrating the life of the girl who liked to be called "G.G." on the two year anniversary of her death. Her big brother and guardian at the time she was murdered, Robert Linen, says she was a beautiful girl whose life was cut far too short.
"She had a lot going for herself. She was a bright, bright girl. Honors student. There's no words really to say," Linen said.
Family friend James Watkins said, "She's going to be greatly missed. She's always in my heart so that's basically it. I'm just here for the family."
It's been two years since the tragic murder of 14 year old Gretchen Perham.
This year, the anniversary of Gretchen's death falls on Mother's Day, making it that much harder for her mother Kim.
"Two years ago we were all together. I mean, she's still here, but in a different way", said Kim Perham.
"It's almost like a bad dream you can't wake up from. It's never going to get easier. Definitely not", said Linen.
The Perham family also walked in memory of Gretchen, tracing the route she used to take every day from home to school. They say they still have so many unanswered questions and they're making it their mission to get answers.
Linen said, "We don't know any more than we knew from day one. We don't think that's fair. We want justice. She should never be forgotten because she was too good to be forgotten."
Perham said, "We don't take enough time to say we love each other enough. Maybe that's what people need to hear. I love you. I don't know. But with Gretchen, she had a lot of love.”
It is her love the entire family says they cling onto as they continue to search for justice.
