TROY, N.Y. -- Troy police have arrested two people who they believe were involved in a recent rash of counterfeit bills being passed around the Capital Region.
During an investigation into complaints of possible drug activity in the North Troy area, police seized a large amount of counterfeit twenty-dollar bills. They also seized some raw, uncut counterfeit bills.

Dawn Washington, 37, and Ronald White, 30, both of Vermont were arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a forged instrument, along with various other charges.
Police believe the two have been producing and distributing a large amount of counterfeit money that has made its way around the Capital Region for the last couple of months.
Both are being held in the Troy City Lockup pending their arraignment.
