SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady is now known by a different name as Ellis Hospital officially takes over in a merger process spanning two-years. Workers held an outside vigil Sunday night to say goodbye.
St. Clare's is now Ellis Hospital's McClellan Campus. A number of changes are, or will be, in effect.

Inpatient services will be transferred to Ellis by this Friday. All OB/GYN services are relocating to Ellis' Niskayuna campus, formally known as Bellevue Woman's Hospital.
Almost all of St. Clare's staff have been offered jobs at Ellis.
The move comes after the 2006 Berger Commission report which said both hospitals must merge in order to reduce health care costs.
