A Schenectady man is convicted of second degree murder and weapon possession charges. Police arrested Omar Lee, 26, back in June of last year in connection with the death of former Schenectady High basketball star Xavier McDaniel Jr.
In court, prosecutors argued Lee believed he could kill McDaniel without getting caught. A key witness in the prosecution's case said Lee was seen getting into McDaniel's car before the shooting.
Lee's defense attorney argued that while there are cameras located near the crime scene Lee was never seen on surveillance footage.
It took the Jury only three hours to convict Lee.
Lee faces up to 25 years behind bars when he's sentenced.
