TROY, N.Y. -- The Eddy, a not-for-profit network of services for seniors in Troy, has launched "The Eddy Haven for Abused Elderly". It's the first of its kind initiative in the Capitol Region, and only the third type of program in the country. Its goal is to target the prevention and intervention of the many different kinds of elder abuse.
"There's financial abuse, there's physical, emotional, sexual, often to you see multiples, it's not just one type of abuse, but multiples, and the other really sad thing is it's often by a family member, a child, a grandchild, a spouse, who's actually the abuser,” said Jo-Ann Costantino, Eddy CEO.
