SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- In a light moment during a news conference about funding for SPAC improvements, Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno took the opportunity to draw attention to a local newspaper he's been at odds with for the past year.

Senator Bruno said, "Is the Times Union here? My friend Jim Odato? Oh. I wanted him to see that people say nice things about me, that we do some good things. Oh you. I guarantee you that picture will be me chewing gum. You're a good man. His name is not Jim Odato."

Senator Bruno has had an ongoing and open feud with Odato ever since he wrote an article alleging that Bruno was misusing state aircraft.

That report eventually led to the Troopergate scandal, when the Attorney General found that aides to then-Governor Eliot Spitzer had acted inappropriately.

Since then, the two have had several heated exchanges at news conferences.
