It's a new family performance: "New York - The State of the Arts: Jimi and Mr. B." It's not only a form of entertainment, but there's also a mission behind this production.
Artistic Director David Gonzalez said the mission is, "to bring the history and the power and the significance of the performing arts in New York State to young people in a package that would make it fun and educational at the same time."
The story centers around the characters Jimi, an aspiring composer, and his girlfriend Isa, a hopeful dancer. They want to create their own show, and that's where Mr. B comes in.
"Mr. B, this magical being comes in and shows them that they can't do it alone, they have to look at the history, the people, the stars of New York performing arts."

Along with honoring great musicians and entertainers, the show also gives a salute to some popular attractions throughout New York State.
"There are beautiful venues all over the place, from the Hudson River up to the Erie Canal, all the towns that bubbled up during the boom times of New York."
And with all the different elements in this production, it's truly a multimedia theatrical experience.
"We have a script, we have six actors, four beautiful musicians, elaborate video design, and beautiful lighting design."
The performance is free and open to the public. It will premiere this Sunday at 3pm at the Egg, where New York is known as "The State of the Arts."
