DENVER -- As police pepper sprayed a group of protestors outside of a Denver hotel during the Democratic National Convention, an Albany County legislator got caught in the crossfire.

Wanda Willingham, who was a guest of the New York delegation, was doused as she tried to enter the Sheraton Hotel where she, the New York delegation and several other delegations are staying.

The hotel has been the site of several protests this week.

As police pepper sprayed a group of protestors outside of a Denver hotel during the Democratic National Convention, an Albany County legislator got caught in the crossfire.
Willingham and several other delegates thought the line to enter the Pepsi Center where the convention is being held was too long, so they decided to watch the proceedings from their hotel room. They were trying to enter the hotel as police were trying to stop a group of protestors from also entering. It's not clear what the group was protesting.

Willingham, who has asthma, was treated by paramedics.
