NEW YORK STATE -- "It's not over until the lady in the pantsuit says it is," Hillary Clinton said on Sunday.
Senator Clinton is soldiering on in her campaign for the White House despite mounting debts and declining chances for pulling off an upset in her bid for the democratic presidential nomination.
Most top democratic leaders in the state have been supporters of the Clinton bid. They continue to say they are not ready to move their support to Illinois Senator Barrack Obama, despite his seemingly insurmountable lead in delegates. But have there been any preliminary talks with his campaign?
"This is one of the great things about a democracy. This is close. And it's not over. That would be inappropriate. Besides, we know that in the event that Senator Obama wins, we'll be supporting him, so there wouldn't be that much to talk about," said Governor David Paterson.
Senator Charles Schumer, who accompanied the governor on a visit to Onondaga County, refused to discuss the presidential race.
