ALBANY, N.Y. -- Add another name to the already crowded field of candidates hoping to take over Mike McNulty's seat in the 21st congressional district.

John Aretakis said he'll officially announce next week that he'll be a Democratic candidate in the race.

Aretakis is best known in the Capital Region as an attorney who represents clients with allegations of clergy sex abuse --
and that will be his signature issue on the campaign trail. Aretakis said he wants to give children a voice in Washington.

Aretakis is the eight candidate to enter the race. On the Democratic side, Phil Steck, Tracey Brooks, Lester Freeman, Gary Mittleman and Darius Shahinfar will battle for the Democratic nod. Jim Buhrmaster and Steven Vasquez have thrown their hats into the ring on the Republican side.
