UNITED STATES -- Senator Barack Obama has cemented his status as the Democratic presidential front runner with an increase of delegates from Iowa.
Obama has picked up nine of the 14 delegates previously pledged to John Edwards. Democratic Party projections say Obama now has a total of 25 Iowa delegates compared to 14 for Hillary Clinton.
California also finalized its delegate count from last month's Super Tuesday primary. Clinton picked up two more delegates, raising her state total to 204, while Obama picked up five more delegates, bringing his to 166.
According to a new tally, Obama leads Hillary overall by 119 delegates.
