Big names eyeing McNulty's open seat

CAPITAL REGION -- The vacancy in the 21st Congressional District has possible candidates taking notice.

Congressman Michael McNulty is retiring, and some big names in local politics have expressed interest in his open seat.


Former Democratic state Assemblyman Paul Tonko, Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton and former state comptroller candidate Chris Callaghan are apparently considering running.

The vacancy in the 21st Congressional District has possible candidates taking notice.
Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings and Hillary Clinton aide M. Tracey Brooks are still under speculation as to whether they are running.

So far, the only candidates to clearly state that they are running are Albany County Democratic Legislator Phil Steck and Guilderland Town Board member Warren Redlich.
