ALBANY, N.Y. -- Another day, another chapter in the Troopergate scandal.

The State Ethics Commission investigating Governor Spitzer's office has subpoenaed Albany Times Union reporter James Odato.

He was the first to report on Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno's use of state aircraft, prompting an investigation by the Attorney General's office.

That investigation cleared Bruno of any wrongdoing but found abuse of power by members of the Governor's office.

The State Ethics Commission investigating Governor Spitzer's office in the Troopergate scandal has subpoenaed Albany Times Union reporter James Odato.
That has led to this probe by the State Ethics Commission, which is expected to question Odato about his interaction with the Governor's office.

The TU says it will fight to keep Odato from having to testify, even saying they will take the state to court. But Senator Bruno says he thinks the Times Union should have full disclosure.

Bruno said, "The Times Union made headlines, front page headlines, mis-stating facts, using erroneous information, being as many people allege, co-conspirators to trying to do something that could be proven to be illegal. So they have really, I think, a duty to make full disclosure."

The state Senate is also expected to launch an investigation into this, and Governor Spitzer may be subpoenaed. Bruno says the State Ethics commission does not go far enough.
