Ballston Spa resident questions McCain, Obama during debate

By: Web Staff

NASHVILLE, TN. -- While many people were watching the debate at home someone from Ballston Spa was able to get through on the phone. Moderator Tom Brokaw fielded the call and the candidates responded.

"We have a question from Langdon in Ballston Spa, New York. And that's about huge unfunded obligations for Social Security, Medicare, and other entitlement programs that will soon eat up all the revenue that's in place."

"We're going to take on entitlements. And I think we gotta’ do it quickly. We have a lot of work to do. I can't guarantee we're going to do it in two years but I'd like to do it in my first term as President," Obama said.

“Social Security's not that tough, my friends. And we know what the fixes are. We gotta’ sit down across the table together. It's been tough before," McCain said.
