Stay safe this Fourth of July weekend. From lighting the grill to outdoor fires, state officials are offering tips so everyone has a fun and problem free holiday weekend.
"Make sure you place your grill in a safe location, never on a balcony or terrace and within 10 feet of a clear space from a building. Never use a propane or charcoal grill inside a house or a garage. Make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy," said Mindy A. Brockstein, NYS CPB Executive Director.

Other safety tips include keeping an eye on your kids, especially when they're swimming, near the barbecue, or near fireworks.
