Brian Taffe is the host of Capital Tonight, the only locally produced show that examines politics, and stories of statewide interest.
Before hosting Capital Tonight, Brian had been at the Capital News 9 anchor desk of for such breaking news events as the death of Pope John Paul II, the Ethan Allen disaster in Lake George, and more. As a reporter, Brian has traveled to the scene of many developing stories: the sinking of the Stellamare, the capture of two suspected terrorists in Albany, vast flooding in the North Country, to name a few.
Outside of the political realm, Brian enjoys reporting on the things that make life in the Capital Region as unique as it is. From summers at the track and at Lake George, to winters spent on the mountain, upstate New York is filled with treasures, and loaded with stories.
Brian is a graduate of Bethlehem High School, and Boston College, where he began his career in journalism through a number of internships and reporting opportunities. From there, Brian took his interest in world affairs to the other side of the globe, traveling throughout Europe to work on his language skills and gain a different perspective on American culture.
