Our customized van features a full array of weather instruments providing temperature, heat index, wind chill, wind speed, wind direction, wind gusts, and rain fall data.
There are also computer and TV displays and video players creating a complete mobile weather classroom that comes complete with its own "chroma-key weather wall" on location.
Kids can do a custom weathercast, just like the News 9 Weather Team does. But unlike our Weathercasters, the kids can take their video home to show mom and dad.
Our Weather on the Nines Weathercasters visit dozens of schools annually to speak on a variety of weather topics.
For nonprofit events, the Storm Chaser is a great way to invite the community to join in.
Additionally, Storm Chaser 9 sends its weather data back to the Capital News 9 studios so that data from the event can be featured in live weathercasts during our Weather on the Nines reports.
