Republican businessman Dirk Myers made an announcement last week.

Democrat and former historian Judy Marcoux (mar-Cooh) is also running.

Other candidates include Republicans Dayton King and Todd Grandshaw.

Meantime, Incumbent Mayor Tim Hughes says he welcomes the competition. He says he's seeking re-election because he would like to continue working on the projects that began under his watch.
