By: Web Staff

PALATINE BRIDGE, N.Y. -- The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying two women who attempted to steal merchandise from the Price Chopper in Palatine Bridge on Sunday. Police believe they are the same women involved in a seafood larceny at the store in February.

According to the sheriff's office, the two women entered the store around 9 p.m. Sunday, loaded two shopping carts with merchandise, hiding some of it in a Rubber Maid tote, and attempted to leave the store. Police said their plan was foiled because the exit door had been secured.

Back in February, two women stole 35 pounds of shrimp and 55 pounds of scallops from the same Price Chopper.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at (518) 853-5500.
