NEW YORK STATE -- Some wealthy New Yorkers are ready and willing to pay higher taxes if it helps the budget deficit.

New Yorkers for Fiscal Fairness released a letter to the Governor and legislators telling the Governor his proposed cuts are unnecessary when taxing wealthy New Yorkers could generate revenue without causing harm to the economy.

"We would like to see many wealthy people, and to our surprise, who also would like to see the wealthy step up to the plate and contribute to solving this budget crisis," said Ron Deutsch.

The Better Choice Budget Campaign wants to not only help balance the budget but also save jobs, maintain state programs and eliminate wasteful spending.
