A Lee police officer is credited with helping rescue two of the people on board. Police say Craig DeSantis pulled two of the people out of the helicopter after the crash and a person on the ground pulled the third person out.
A person who lives near the crash site says that one second the chopper was in the air and the next it was on the ground.
"That's when it sounded like the motor shut off and then I heard like the propellers on the ground like it was crashing," said neighbor Randy Wade.
The FAA is coming in from Hartford, Connecticut to begin its investigation.
