Witnesses take the stand, man arrested outside courtroom
ALBANY, N.Y. -- It was another big day in Wednesday for the Jermayne Timmons murder trial. The 16-year-old is accused of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Kathina Thomas. The 10-year-old was fatally shot while playing outside her First Street home in May 2008.
A number of witnesses testified, including the ER doctor on duty the night Kathina was killed. He explained what the ER team did to try and save the little girl's life.

A firearms expert also took the stand to talk more about the weapon used in the crime. A woman who was a resident of First Street back in May testified about what she heard that night.
Timmons' 15-year-old friend also took the stand. Police said that friend was with Timmons and another boy the night of the shooting. That boy testified that he couldn't remember want happened that night and later admitted his father had told him what to say.
The detectives who interviewed Timmons back in June were also called to the stand.
One man was actually arrested outside the courtroom during the proceedings. Sheriff's deputies said Albert Tyson, 24, lied about being a relative of the victim and made Kathina's mother uncomfortable when he sat behind her in court. He was repeatedly asked to move and then leave, and he was eventually escorted out and was arrested on charges of trespassing, harassment and stalking.
The trial resumes at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Timmons faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life in prison if convicted.
