Albany police release surveillance images in Bailey murder case
ALBANY, N.Y. -- "It would be why. Why did you target this poor kid, this great kid?" asked Jim Bailey, father of Richard Bailey.
It's the question Jim and Lisa Bailey have for the person who fired the gun, ending their son's life.
It's been one month since UAlbany student Richard Bailey was shot and killed walking home on South Lake Avenue. Now, Bailey's parents are asking Albany for help.
"My son died and nobody knows why. We need closure. We need to know why," said Jim Bailey.
Bailey's parents described their son as always with a smile on his face. They said he was following in his father footsteps and becoming a cop. But as the days go by, with no arrests, the family's frustrations grow.
"There's good out there, and hopefully someone comes forward. But, disappointed, yeah, that would be correct to say," said Jim Bailey.
And as the family searches for answers, police are releasing new surveillance video of someone riding a bike that night near the scene of the shooting.

Albany Public Safety Spokesperson James Miller said the person in the video is not a suspect, but investigators are interested in finding out what the person knows. Miller said the video was taken from a business on Madison Avenue and is just now being shown after Albany police had it digitally enhanced.
"We are just hoping to identify the person and bring them in and get whatever information we can or eliminate it from the equation," said Miller.
Richard Bailey's mother Lisa said her son's organs were donated, saving the lives of four people and continuing a life, cut tragically short.
