CAPITAL REGION -- A Guilderland woman was arrested after the Albany County Sheriff's Department said she stole $8,000 from the Rotterdam Girls Softball league.

Rae Lynch was the treasurer of the league for two years. Police said during that time, she was writing checks payable to cash and using them to pay personal bills.

The missing money was discovered when a new treasurer took over and saw a league check used to pay Lynch's Albany County taxes.

Lynch is facing grand larceny charges.
