COEYMANS, N.Y. -- The school day was cut short today for middle and high school students in the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk School District.

A motor in the aquatics wing of the high school burned-out as a result of a transformer problem on State Route 9W. This caused a power outage as well as a smoke condition at the high school.

As a result, middle and high school students were dismissed at noon.

The fire department is on the scene ventilating the building.
