ALTAMONT, N.Y. -- The sounds of alternative rock hit the Altamont Fairgrounds this weekend, bringing out all ages. The gloomy weather didn't dampen the spirits of rock fans. The concert event was sponsored by radio station 104.9 the Edge.

Music fans say Edgefest is all about the music and the experience.

"I love the whole festival idea. It gets everyone together having a good time, good food, good people, good times," said Rotterdam resident John Ryan.

There was an impressive performance list, including Everclear, POD and the local winners of The Edge's Battle for Edgefest 2008.
