The student, Kamiar Alaei, is enrolled in Albany's doctorate of public health program and was involved in setting up Iran's first HIV/STD prevention center. The group, Human Rights Watch, says the Alaei and his brother, Arash, were detained by security forces late last month. It's still not known why they were arrested, or where they are being held.
