Bucky Phillips causing trouble in jail

NEW YORK STATE -- The man who led police on the largest manhunt in New York State history is apparently causing problems in prison.

A spokesman for the State Corrections Department says Ralph “Bucky” Phillips has been sanctioned nine times in the year and a half he's been incarcerated. The offenses range from harassment, to violent conduct and because of that, he spends 23 hours a day inside his cell in a special housing unit at the Clinton Correctional Facility.

Two years ago, Phillips escaped from the county facility in Alden, sparking a search effort that lasted more than five months and resulted in the death of one state trooper. He's also accused of shooting two others during that time.
