Greenville bus driver charged with child endangerment
GREENVILLE, N.Y. -- A school bus driver was arrested Thursday and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
State Police in Catskill received a report from a school official from the Greenville School District that an unusual incident occurred on one of the buses on April 28.
Police said an investigation revealed that school bus driver George White, 65, allowed a 10-year-old girl to change seats on the bus in exchange for a hug. White is accused of making suggestive comments to the girl when she gave him a hug.
It was also reported that White gave the child his phone number, money and candy on previous occasions.
White was issued an appearance ticket and has been suspended with pay by the Greenville School District pending the outcome of the investigation.
