Guilderland police investigate fatal accident
GUILDERLAND, N.Y. -- Guilderland police are investigating a fatal accident.
The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday on Route 20 at the intersection of Route 158.
Two cars and a truck were involved -- one driven by Scott Thompson of Schenectady, and another driven by John Carpentier of Altamont.

The third driver, whose named has not been released, was pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center.
Carpentier was taken to St. Peter's Hospital for treatment.
The accident is still under investigation, but police said no criminal charges are currently pending and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
