It's a little entertainment for this lunchtime crowd at 41 State Street in Albany featuring the smooth harmonies from this quartet from Capitaland Chorus.
Performer Nancy Plaat said, "Capitaland Chorus is a group of women who sing four-part barbershop harmony a capella style, without any accompaniment."
The attraction here is certainly the singing, but they're more than just a pretty sound.
Performer Quay Houchen said, "We also have choreography and have dance and we have glitz and glamour. We are a show chorus, so there are theatrics involved."

And today it's a special theme, with songs performed in salute to our nation's birthday.
Houchen said, "We have a variety of songs and depending on what time of year it is, we try to align those songs for the theme with whatever show we're doing."
Capitaland Chorus is not only recognized here in Albany, they're also considered to be one of the top five choruses in the world, and they will compete at this year's Harmony Classic in San Antonio, Texas.
Plaat said, "We've actually competed at the national level three other times, but this time it's at a mid-sized chorus, so we'll be at the international educational symposium in San Antonio, Texas, and we'll be leaving in another week or so."
And with all this traveling and competing at this national level, performing has also become a learning experience for the chorus.
Houchen said, "We're coached by some of the best international coaches and directors across the world, so we're constantly gathering information and vocalizing and learning different techniques and skills."
Capitaland Chorus has increased in membership over the years since the group began back in 1977. It's a diverse group of women with different backgrounds, but their mission here is pretty much the same.
Plaat said, "It's wonderful music therapy for anyone who wants to get rid of those stresses of the day and come and see what we're all about."
And if you're interested in doing that, Capitaland Chorus will be performing at noon on the first Wednesday of each month at 41 State Street in Albany.
