Governor Paterson has said he won't announce his decision until Senator Clinton is confirmed as Secretary of State.

Besides Kennedy, there has been speculation that Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is being considered for the seat. Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand has also been mentioned as a contender.
