Skelos says Paterson acting like Spitzer
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos is likening Governor Paterson to his predecessor. Appearing on Capital Tonight Skelos said Paterson is starting to act like Eliot Spitzer by barking orders at lawmakers during budget negotiations. It's something the Senate Majority Leader said needs to stop.
"I don't need the governor pounding his fist on the table, grand standing and lecturing, that is what Eliot Spitzer used to do and we got nowhere. I hope he is not moving toward that type of governing process. What we need is how we worked to together in August," said Skelos.
The governor has called back the Legislature for a special session on November 18th.
