Paterson reacts to Bruno’s announcement
ALBANY, N.Y. – Bruno’s announcement is all anyone in Albany is talking about. Governor David Paterson had very nice words about Bruno and his long career in the Senate.
"I've always found him to be forthright, direct, very engaging, an appealing personality and I think that it is in some ways it is a sad day in Albany and for me, who, likes to think that I have a friendship with him outside of government and that he and I working together first as Majority and Minority leader and now as governor and majority leader have tried to demonstrate and level of professionalism. And I would just say a tone and a culture that is different than what has happened around here before," Paterson said.

This announcement comes at a time when republicans are clinging onto the majority of the senate. This past year, democrat Daryl Aubertine won the senate seat vacated by James Wright, which cut the majority by another seat.
