Responding to a report in the New York Post, Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi said he fully expects Governor David Paterson to run for governor in 2010 and that he plans to support him.

Suozzi released a statement backing Paterson and calling him the right person to move the state forward during these difficult times.

In addition to his county executive post, Suozzi serves as the chairman of the Governor's Commission of Property Tax Relief.

He lost his bid for the Democratic nod in the 2006 governor's race to Eliot Spitzer.
