Basset hound rescue
If you've decided to bring a basset hound into your family, consider adopting from a rescue. Every year thousands of basset hounds are taken in and looking for forever homes.
Mona Willson has been with Basset Hound Rescue since she adopted Spike and has seen more than her share of sad faces and horror stories. ABC is currently involved in a rescue of several basset hounds from Arkansas.
Over the past 7 ½ years, ABC Bassett Hound Rescue has saved more than 420 dogs. They rely on volunteers to help with fostering or making the long drive with several dogs as passengers.

Once the potential pets arrive in their new foster homes, they are assesed before heading to their new forever homes. If you choose to adopt a basset you'll need to file an application and have a home visit to make sure you are matched with the right dog for you and your family.
