How about a small, New England-type village with quaint homes, comfy B&B's, shops and stores and a large outdoor, middle of the green public farm market every Thursday? You'll find all of this plus a lot of very friendly people in Clinton, New York.
This Oneida County village has been visited many times by the Senator of the same last name. Throughout the year, the Kirkland Art Center sponsors many stage and musical performances. Beautiful Hamilton College is just up the road. Many come to enjoy the campus walking tour of their arboretum along with the Root Glen Gardens.
The public farm market in the center of town on the village green is thriving every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the season. On occasion, an evening band concert occupies the same space.
