Sweeney's court appearance adjourned
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. -- Friday's scheduled court appearance for former Congressman John Sweeney has been adjourned.
Sweeney was originally scheduled to appear in Clifton Park Town Court to face a felony DWI charge, but the court date was postponed at the request of his lawyer who said Sweeney plans to enter rehab.

A state trooper pulled Sweeney over for speeding on Route 9 in Clifton Park on April 5. The trooper said he smelled alcohol on Sweeney's breath and that he refused to take a sobriety test.
Sweeney is charged with a felony because it's his second drunk driving arrest in about 18 months. He will also lose his license.
Sweeney pleaded guilty in November 2007 to aggravated DWI, after being pulled over on the Northway. Police said his blood alcohol level was more than twice the state's legal limit.
