Ambulance involved in crash

ALBANY, N.Y. -- An ambulance and minivan collided at the intersection of Quail Street and Myrtle Avenue on Tuesday.

Albany Police say a Capital District Ambulance, which was not carrying any patients and wasn't heading to an emergency, was hit by the minivan when it tried to beat out the traffic light before it turned red. The force of the impact flipped the minivan on its side.

The driver and passenger of the minivan had minor injuries and were taken to Albany Medical Center. The driver and passenger of the ambulance were not hurt.

Police say charges will be filed against the driver of the minivan.
