Worker dies after hazmat situation in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- One of the workers hospitalized after a hazmat situation in Schenectady on Tuesday has died.

The workers were in the back of a sewage truck behind the Precision Industrial Maintenance building on Erie Boulevard when they were overcome by toxic fumes. Officials said they were exposed to hydrogen sulfide.

Ellis Hospital has confirmed that one of the workers has died, while the other is now listed in good condition. No names are being released at this time.
