ALBANY, N.Y. -- Governor Spitzer said his upcoming budget will focus on the common interests of all New Yorkers.

He is calling on state leaders to support his plan, called "One New York."

It's an effort to bridge the gap between upstate and downstate New Yorkers.

Spitzer said lawmakers need to get past "geographic and interest-driven sectionalism" for the sake of a budget that addresses the needs of all New Yorkers.
