ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany fire investigators are at the scene of a fire that broke out on Central Avenue. The fire started at a high-rise apartment building at 400 Central Avenue around 7 a.m.
Fire Chief Andy Nolan said the fire was contained to a one-bedroom apartment on the 10th or 11th floor.
One person lives there, but he was not hurt. However a woman who lives a few floors above was overcome by smoke as she was coming down the stairs. She was taken to Albany Medical Center by ambulance.
There is no word yet on a cause.
